The hosts will be encouraging all to keep the music flowing at a pace that makes the event attractive to those who only want to listen. Eventually, they envision this being a monthly spot for listeners to check out regional musicians at work and play, while enjoying food and beverages. Enough listeners could equal more business for Jefferson's could equal some remuneration (or at least beverages) for musicians.
At the same time, it should be possible to gather in 2s and 3s in a back corner (or on the deck if weather allows) to practice and share ideas offstage. In other words, the concept is sort of a mix between open mic and jam. And the concept is not set in stone, so let's see how this evolves...and please share any suggestions you have, including times, days, venue, and format. Support the local creative economy and music communities by showing up for this well organized HOOTENANNY!
