MELISSA CZARNIK

Following up on the theme of my last post--Milwaukee hip-hopper Melissa Czarnik is one of the many inspiring artists that my Driftless Showcases at Acadia have connected me with. Positive, articulate, soulful, and thought-provoking; Melissa's sound has all the elements I look for in hip-hop. Guitarist / producer / band leader Eric Mire joined her on stage during her April 16 DM show to blend live sounds with profound beats that fit right in with our own MPLS hip-hop scene.

Melissa is will be releasing her second album in July and will be returning to the Twin Cities then for two gigs: the 16th @ Station 4 and the 17 @ the Acadia (for the Graveyard Blues Series). More info HERE. Video from the 4/16/10 DM show at Acadia is below.
